Honey Wheat Graham Squares

Although the flour is not soaked in this recipe, it is still a healthier choice over most other ’sweet’ snacks, which is why I thought I’d share it with you all!

Honey Wheat Graham Squares

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Graham Flour
(can use more whole wheat if you don’t have graham)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/8 cup honey (1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup honey)

1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup organic applesauce

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients together
  3. Add in honey, butter, and water and mix until moistened. It will be a kind of think and crumbly dough.
  4. Grease 9×13 pan. (I use a glass pan so that I don’t have to worry about cutting in it. If you don’t have one, you may want to lightly cut the bars before they bake.
  5. Sprinkle lightly with white sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes, cool, and devour!
This recipe was inspired by one Tammy posted awhile back.
