A Clean Kitchen Makes my Heart Happy!
Now, before I show you the “before” picture, I have to say just one thing. This is half cleaned. I just couldn’t let you see it as horrible as it got!! So, before I took this picture, I had emptied out the dishwasher and reloaded it (yea, a full load was on the counter!) and moved the paper pile that took up 1/4 of the space on the island counter. So basically I had not one inch of empty space on my counters. (ducking my head in shame)
After two nursing breaks and lots of hands in dishwater, I can finally see the counter again!
And now I can breath a little easier. It still needs to be mopped, but that can wait until the laundry is done!
Speaking of laundry, I’ve got 2 loads folded, two ready to fold, one in the wash and one in the dryer. Only 3 more loads to go. Plus lots of vacuuming, scrubbing bathrooms, and putting things away.
You know, I should really hire a housekeeper when the kids and I are sick!

me too!!! I love a clean kitchen! Sometimes I’ll clean it and love the look so much that I can’t help but cook something and make another mess!

I love that you included “when the kids and I are sick.” My kitchen struggles EVERY DAY!!! My husband actually commented last night that we’re getting better at doing each meals’ dishes as needed instead of me waking up and having yesterday’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes!! And, he does help me out a ton, so it was fitting for him to say “we’re getting better.” Anyway, your kitchen looks great and I hope it stayed that way for at least an afternoon!!

@Michelle Lloyd,
I’m REALLY trying to get into a habit of cleaning up right after dinner, but it’s so hard right now with my husband hunting so much at night.
I always have an excuse for my messy kitchen! Last week it was sickness, this week – I haven’t been getting enough sleep. Next week, who knows, maybe it”l be because I blinked 3 times fast.

Hi I just found your blog while I was looking around for some healthy living inspiration (and totally procrastinating about doing any housework LOL) and then I saw your kitchen photos. Very nice to know it isn’t just me who has alot to get done coz it does feel like it somedays! My reason this week for struggling to keep up is that my darling 2 yo son and hubby are both sick and think they’re on deaths door :rolling eyes: so my job has consisted more of doling out cuddles, hot drinks, food and over-the-top sympathy
), this weeks loaves are on to soak along with tomorrow mornings crepes, and dinners quiche is ready for the oven and I just need to chuck together the salad. I feel alot more together and am starting to look forward to tomorrow!!
However I have had to draw the line today since I couldn’t get to the tap thanks to dirty dishes and when I was looking for clean clothes for my boy I realised they were all in the wash!!
Thank goodness for a beautiful sunny day (we’re just coming out of winter here so still get rotton weather alot!) which means my last load of washing – I had 11 loads :blush: – is finishing now, almost ready to hang out, my dishwasher has been put through 3 times today and I’m just finishing off the handwashed load, all the beds have been stripped and have clean sheets sitting on them to be remade, the bathroom and toilet have been thoroughly scrubbed (I fitted my shower in while scrubbing out the bath
Anyway wanted to thank you for posting those photos as they were just the encouragement I needed!
