Hike up them drawers!
I have a skinny little kid. He’s always been little really, hasn’t been over the 15th percentile since he was 6 months old. And he has a teeny tiny little booty. So all his pants fall off all the time. To make matters worse (well, I guess it’a actually a good thing, but you get my drift!), he’s also been in underpants full time since he was two so he doesn’t even have a diaper to help him out.
A while back I saw an ad online for these cute little snappers that acted like a belt, but only in the back. While super cute, I usually cheap out when I see things like that, so I began to brainstorm to find something else that would be just as useful.
Back when I used to ride and show horses, we had to wear clips on the bottom of our pants (strapped under the boots) to keep our pants from riding up, and they were adjustable. I knew they were at least a few bucks a pair, but better than paying per “belt”. Before I was able to get to the store to pick up a pair, my mom did me one better.
She found these little clips (advertised for keeping mittens on coats) at the dollar store! She got two of them for just a buck. And they work great! Even on his pants that don’t have loops, I can just clip them onto the extra fabric. Now we no longer have pants falling down all day!
This totally works for me! And if you’d like to check out some other moms frugal ideas, head over here.
Easier way to feed toddlers
Feeding a toddler takes time. Not only time to make sure what they are eating is nutritious and good for them, but also in the fact that it can take forever to prepare. You know, cause they can’t actually cut their own food.
Enter the pizza cutter!
So it’s not like using a knife is hard at all, but this just makes it so much faster. I cut pancakes, eggs, spaghetti, sandwiches, meat, etc. with it and it sure speeds the process up when he’s hollering at me from his highchair because he wants to eat! Oh, and one more tidbit – if you’re cutting something that might stick (a.k.a. spaghetti) spray the cutter with some oil first.
