Disclosure Policy

Naturally Knocked up is a personal blog, written, edited, and owned by me – Donielle. (which is why you might just cringe at my grammatical errors!)

Recent events have led me to believe I need an actual disclosure policy. One of those events being the FTC making all bloggers be extremely truthful and forthcoming when it comes to products we receive for free and/or paid posts. Which for me is important, because I want you all to know that I don’t sell out or change my beliefs based on money! They have also decided that we can not make health claims. Again, important because well…some people lie and extend the truth.

I blog here at Naturally Knocked Up for one main reason; to share what I’ve learned in my research about real nutrition and how it effects my fertility in hopes to spur an interest in you to do the same. I am not a doctor or medical professional. The information you read here is for educational and informational purposes only. I do not give medical advice, rather I share what I have learned in my own studies. Please consult a trusted health care provider before making changes to your diet.

I also want to be clear that I do make a small amount of money from my site. Let me break it down for you:

Advertisements: I will only allow advertisers that I fully believe in to advertise here at Naturally Knocked Up. I have never used google ads on my site for this very reason as, I am unable to decide what shows up (plus the fact that they are keyword generated, which means I could say I don’t like something, it sees that word, and up pops and ad trying to get you to buy it!). This is also the reason I have recently cut ties with a large ad network I had partnered with for the last year or so. I finally came to the decision that although those ads were the main way I have made income off of this blog, I could no longer in my right conscience allow ads that were in some ways directly against what I stand for. This blog is my internet ‘home’ and what I do not allow in my actual home, will not be allowed here. That all being said, I will be joining a new ad network in the coming new year.  One that advertises for companies that I love and trust. (see? God opened a window when I had to close a door!)

Affiliate links: I also have affiliate links and ads here at Naturally Knocked Up which means that when you click on those links/ads and make a purchase I receive a small amount of compensation. I am also only an affiliate for companies that I love and/or purchase from myself. I may also from time to time link to these affiliates in my posts, but please know that my opinion for products and services is purely my own. I will never sell out for the ‘Benjamins’. (that’s $ for those not in the know)

Reviews: One of the benefits about being a blogger is that companies like to use us for ‘free’ advertising for their product by sending us a freebie. I have absolutely no problem doing this as I find it a great way to expand my knowledge and help you find the best that’s out there. Plus, sometimes the stuff is really cool and other times it’s been an answer to prayer! That said, I do not accept offers to do reviews for products I don’t feel fit the theme of my blog or would not benefit you to hear about. I am also completely honest in my reviews. A free product in no way means I will mislead or misdirect you. Also, if I receive a free product, I’ll let you know.

Twitter/Facebook: I use these sites purely for social networking. I do not do paid tweets or send out spam advertising links. Though I may once in awhile link to different promotions or campaigns I believe in, and sometimes it might be that it’s a company I’m an affiliate for. But most of the time it’s just me yakking about things that interest me!

So there you have it. I hope I’ve put it all out there for you and haven’t missed anything! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at donielle at naturallyknockedup.com. I thank you very much for supporting me and my blog and I just want you to know that I will always blog with integrity.

  1. Hey,

I just wanted to let you know I value and trust your suggestions. In fact, I registered for the wooden rattle you posted about a while back.

  2. Thanks for posting this. Although I find it sad that the FTC feels the need to regulate bloggers. :( I know some probably have a large following, but shouldn’t it go without saying that any information you provide is your opinion and experience and people should always, always do their research and check in with a trusted medical professional? Sigh.
