We’ve been trying to sell my Jeep for almost a year with no luck. It went up in the spring and then gas prices rose so NO ONE wanted an SUV. Neither did we for that matter! 16/17 miles a gallon at 4 bucks a gallon was slowly killing us and forcing me to stay home much, much more than I would have liked. Plus, they’re kind of a pain to use with car seats, and with another babe on the way we wanted to sell it even more. Months and months went by with no takers.
But God had something planned for us.
Which is why we tried our hardest not to worry. (to tell you the truth, I wasn’t great at not worrying!)
All the while we’ve been trying to sell it, we planned on buying a little economy car for the gas mileage even though we were sure it would be as much of a pain getting car seats into it. (we had a car until our guy was about 6 months old) Then somehow we started thinking about minivans and Todd did all the major research to find what type/ model/ engine etc. that we would like to try and get.
Then it happened.
A man called about our ad on Craigslist and offered to trade the EXACT SAME VAN we were looking at getting, even up for my Jeep. A few hours later, we swapped titles and I now drive a minivan!
God sure is good!
And for those of you who are still saying “I’ll NEVER drive one of those!”, I love mine. Seriously, I love it. While it may not be the coolest thing out there, my two and a half year old can actually climb in. By himself! That added with the fact that I can easily turn around in my seat and stand up to buckle him in, instead of my bum hanging out in the cold, has me sold on the van concept. Plus it gets about 6 miles per gallon farther than my Jeep did!
Now I guess I need to be on the lookout for a soccer ball sticker to put in the back window, right?
