And if you just can’t figure out why those ingredients are bad for you, here you go
- enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate,{vitamin B1} riboflavin {vitamin B2} folic acid) – refined flours are a large contributor to insulin spikes as well as causing our bodies to lose nutrients we need in order to digest them.
- soybean oil – soy has been linked to hormone disruption due to the levels of phytoestrogens in it.
- sugar – robs our body of nutrients while we try to digest it as well as causes insulin spikes.
- partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil -can suppress the activity in cell receptors that are involved in inflammation, glucose metabolism, and insulin sensitivity.
- salt
- leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate)
- high fructose corn syrup – the fructose travels to the liver almost completely intact, not broken down at all. The liver must then work even harder to digest and get rid of it. And our livers, which also expel old hormones that helps our entire hormonal system to function better, are then overworked and not able to function as well as they could.
- soy lecithin (emulsifier) – again with the soy!
- natural flavor – Hmmm, wonder what’s in this?
- cornstarch
Thanks for playing along and you’ll get another chance to guess this Friday!!

I don’t think I have bought a box of those the entire time I have been a mom?!
That’s not to say I haven’t bought other things that weren’t so good though

Definitely makes me think twice about the box I have in the pantry. Ick.
Are you anti-everything soy? Would be interested to hear more about this.
