Finished! And Unvealing My Next Big Project…..

It’s a funny thing sending off my book. After all the time it took, the research behind it, and all the writing, it was such an odd feeling to hand it over to someone else! I know it’s in good hands and I pray the editing and publishing process goes smoothly. And I thank you all for your awesome support and prayers though the process.

And now I can finally blog again – if I remember how.

It’s also a funny thing not blogging for a while. I almost don’t miss it. I mean I do – but I don’t miss a lot of the issues that come with regular blogging, like trying to keep up with what others are doing, going after advertisers, dealing with comments and a slew of e-mails I normally receive. It’s been a nice break to be able to write and not have the added stress. I’ve also been able to come to some ideas of where I want this blog to go and what I want to do with it. All take time of course and only time will tell if I’ll be able to implement them. You see, I’m happy at where I am in life. I have two precious little lives that I need to train and raise, we started homeschooling my oldest this fall – so it’s important for me to take the time with them first. I don’t feel that God has his plans for me taking this to a full time job. I’m sure I could do it, I could really make something of myself, make good money – but it’s not the current plan for my life.

My dream has always been to be a stay at home mom – one that is present for my children. And a wife that spends time with her husband in the evenings. I can’t do all of that and be good at my primary job too.

I do have some fun things planned for the blog though, a couple different projects in the works, but as my schedule fits them.

My Next Big Project

While I’m keeping my blogging on the down-low for a little bit, as I recoup from writing almost 85,000 words, I do have one pretty big project up my sleeve. And I know what some of you are thinking, what with my dealing with adrenal fatigue over the last couple of years, that I might be trying to stretch myself to thin again in such a short amount of time. But this one is a God thing.

The Lord definitely has good timing in his blessings. At 7 weeks along, the major fatigue and the icky tummy hit me hard just these last few days – and the book is done. So I didn’t have to try and write while feeling under the weather!

We’re extremely excited to be welcoming a new little one in May!!

And this is the first pregnancy where I was actually charting so we found out right away, which was fun. And here I was only charting since I thought my luteal phase was a bit short (common during breastfeeding or bouncing back after breastfeeding ends – we’ll discuss that at some point). We told our family right away, but with only one test and having a history of annovulation……I took another. You know, just to make sure. 😉

So while I’m definitely feeling fatigued – this newest project is very much welcomed!

  1. Congratulations!

  2. Yay Yay Yay!!!!!!!!

  3. I’m making a big pot of soup, watching the kiddo play, and growing #2 myself (due in Feb)-and reading this just put the biggest smile on my face! A very heartfelt congratulations from my family to yours!!!!

  4. Congratulations!!! What a blessing. Good luck with everything!

  5. Congratulations, Donielle! And yeah, David was a bouncing-back-from-breastfeeding baby, apparently! I was confused because I had a 28-day-period for the first time in my life; I thought I had had a miscarriage. So I charted the next month and BOOM. Baby. :)

So congrats on the baby and the book!

  6. Congratulations! So excited for you! This is a big project, bigger than the book right! By the way, congrats on finishing it up too!

  7. Woo hooooooo! Great project. :)

  8. Congratulations! i’m drinking up lots of fertility tea from your recipe hoping that I’ll have the same kind of news to share with my family later this month!

@Kimberly, I love that tea! It was definitely one of the things that got my hormones to balance out after weaning my daughter. Another reason I think I felt so much better is because I was so well hydrated after drinking all day. :-)

  9. Congratulations!!! What a fabulous project to get started on. :o)

  10. A big congrats x2!! One for finishing the book, and the other for your “latest” project!! :)

  11. Yeah! Congratulations! Super excited about your new project and definitely of upmost importance!

  12. Fun way to announce. Congratulations to your family and what awesome timing God has!

  13. Congrats!!! We are expecting a little one in May as well! I went thru your class and just want to say thanks again for everything you have done!

@Allison, Congratulations Allison!!!! I’m so excited for you!!! :-)

  14. I scrolled down and said, “YAY, she’s pregnant.” And my DH said, “Who’s pregnant?” I said, “Naturally Knocked Up is knocked up.” LOL! :)

I am so thankful that God is blessing you in this way. I will pray for your little bunchkin. I am excited about your book too. I can’t wait to see what it looks like and how it is presented to the world. But babies are better. :)

  15. Congrats!!!!!! So exciting! I know exactly how you feel about blogging. I am there too. I don’t really miss it much. The Lord has been teaching me some things in regarding value… what am I valuing most in my life these days? Am I making earthly treasures or heavenly treasures? I’ve been working on homeschooling my oldest and that takes a lot of time, but I am learning to enjoy it. What are you doing for homeschooling? You have a curriculum or program that you are doing?

    donielle Reply:

@[email protected], I think I’ve been getting those same lessons. And while I have been busy writing these last few months, it’s very different than the “social” and “business” end of blogging, leaving me more time for my family – which I love.

I started using Our Father’s World curriculum, but honestly I’m not that impressed with it. The book isn’t written very well for the teacher and a lot of it I’m not even using as we already started the 100 Easy Lessons to Teach Your Child to Read late last winter. So the reading is behind him and I actually don’t care for how they teach it. But we do the basic lessons each day. :-) We’re also finishing up the 100 lessons book soon, so I think I’ll head to our local homeschool store and see if I can find both a good math and a reading book that builds on what we’ve done. next year I might sell the MFW stuff and just piece together my kindergarten curriculum next time. Michele at Frugal Granola just listed out all of the books she’s using for K – I wanted to check out some of those too.

  16. Oh, oh, congratulations!!! So, so excited and delighted for you. I cannot imagine more beautiful news. I’m incredibly impressed that you kept that news under wraps with all my little baby talk yesterday, too! :)

    donielle Reply:

@JessieLeigh, I had to keep my fingers from spilling the news! Much easier than keeping my mouth shut. But, I now I really do have some left over baby dust, so if you want some sent your way…….. lol

  17. Congratulations! Can’t wait for your book!!

  21. Congratulations!

  22. Now, tell me again about you having infertility . . . ??? It’s good for me to hear from people like you who have CHILDREN now, after the emptiness and the waiting.

    From Psalm 113.9:
He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the LORD!

    Praising God with you, Donielle!

    donielle Reply:

@Maria, Thank you Maria! Isn’t it amazing! :-) God has shown me so much over the past few years and sometimes it still surprises me how “normal” my body can be now.

  23. I’m so happy for you. Congratulations!!

  24. Praise the Lord! So exciting! :)

  25. congratulations!!!

  26. Hooray for babies! :)
