Giveaway: A New Herbal Remedy Book

Herbal Nurturing from Frugal Granola

Michele from Frugal Granola and I became friends right as I entered into the online world. Her gentle spirit and desire to live a simple life, inspired me and ignited a passion within me for seeking contentment in the possessions that the Lord had already blessed me with. We also share the desire to feed our families foods that nourish and we try to use products in a natural and non chemical forms. Her recipes for shampoo and other body products were part of my driving force behind making my own, and I often times search her site for herbal remedies.

I was also very blessed to meet her and her family at The Relevant Conference this last weekend in Pennsylvania! We enjoyed many meals together and often sat and chatted about life, family, blogging, and God.

It’s because of my love of her blog, and my love for herbal healing that I proudly joined her affiliate program when she announced the launch of her new book, “Herbal Nurturing, a Family Healing and Learning Guide”. She has also sent me a copy to review and I simply can’t wait to get started making some of the herbal recipes! I’ve dabbled in herbal healing for a few years now, and this book, quite honestly, is the one herbal book I’ll be referring to over and again. Most the herbal books on my shelf are saturated with religious beliefs that I don’t care to align myself with, and it has become frustrating reading them. This book also fits my need to have directions written out simply, and I know with Michele’s background in everything ‘frugal’, the ingredients will not be costing me an arm and a leg either!

Now that I have my traveling behind me, and winter looming on the horizon, I’ll be getting a few herbal remedies ready for if/when my family or I fall ill. I’ve spent time looking through her book and have made a list (who doesn’t love lists, right!) of the remedies I want to have on hand:

  1. Elderberry syrup – the recipe she has is very similar to mine, even adding in 2 extra ‘boosters’ (one of which I began adding to mine late last winter, another I didn’t even think of!)
  2. Licorice-Spice Cold Infusion – just the sound of this one makes me feel like it’ll kick any cold in the booty!
  3. Cough Syrup and also the Cough Tea – the dreaded cough that follows a cold is always uncomfortable, so I can’t wait to have something to help
  4. Sinus Steam – I’ve been ‘blessed’ with quite small sinus’, so when I get stuffed up, I feel like I’m at death’s door. I may just stay in bed with this remedy should I fall ill.

She also has many other remedies, you’ll find remedies for headaches, pregnancy, post partum, a women’s monthly tea, along with many others.

My being a friend of Michele’s is also hugely beneficial for you! She’s decided to giveaway a copy of her eBook to one of my readers!

I’m also going to tell you that I’m posting this a bit late, so you’re going to have to enter quickly! (blogging while traveling isn’t as easy as I thought!) You only have until this Saturday at midnight to enter to win! I also want to make entering as easy as possible on you (am I the only one that’s getting tired of the million and 5 entries you can get on blog giveaways by following, tweeting, jumping up and down, stand on your head entries?) but I also want you to check out Michele’s book. Not only is it only fair to her, giving away a book and all, I really think it’s something you’d be interested in.

So, to enter…………..

Please check out Michele’s book and leave a comment here on this post letting us know which herbal remedy you’d really be interested in trying. By doing so, you’ll get to see the entire list of remedies and even get a few sample recipes as well!

I do hope that you’ll consider buying her new book! The cost is only $8.95 and she’s generously offering you all 25% off when you use the code: NATURAL25 (offer good until Nov. 1 at midnight). This discount makes the book only $6.72, a great price to buy for yourself or for Christmas gifts! (it’s in eBook form, but easily printable for giving)
