    uh-oh! I don’t have a bread machine but I’ve killed off the yeast (keeping everything way too warm)with similar results!

    Disappointing! I’ve had issues with our bread maker, too. One time it was mixing with such vigor it vibrated right off my counter. Needless to say, that bread didn’t turn out either.

    Well, at least I’m not the only one!! And I’m pretty sure the problem was me since I forgot to put the yeast in, noticed after the first rise, put it in, and started it all over again. :-)
    And normally I don’t let it cook in the breadmaker, I toss it in the oven, but I didn’t have a choice that day.

    Haha, I did that once. As soon as I’d realized what I’d done, I got a permanent marker and wrote on the machine: YEAST. Right next to the start button. Haven’t made that mistake since!
