It’s Official…..I’m Writing a Book!!

Eighteen month ago I was talking with my friend Katie about where we wanted blogging to take us. She mentioned writing a book and I had no desire to do so – it wasn’t even on my radar. In fact, I grew up hating writing {which always makes me laugh since I now love to write for my own blog.} and many days I don’t feel that I’m adequate enough to write what I do.

And yet, my life would feel so odd if I didn’t sit down and peck at the keys each day. I’ve grown to love the sound of the pitter patter of my laptop, the way my dog sits at my feet each time, and the sounds of my son building sky scrapers and train tracks in his bedroom for an hour each day while I work.

This spring I was solicited by a publisher to write a book on natural fertility. A real, live, ‘sign a contract’ kind of  book!

It's official! I'm writing a book!! 11weeks and 80,000 words to go!

After prayer and discussion with my husband, we decided that it would be a good time for me to head into this uncharted territory. So the contract is signed and I’m busy trying to figure out what I’m doing!! I now have about 11 weeks to get 80,000 words to paper, so I truly covet your prayers.

  • that the right words come together, make sense, and will impact others,
  • that I’m able to remain stress free and still have time for my loved ones,
  • that the time I do have to write is productive,
  • and that I can really convey my thoughts on natural fertility through a Christian perspective

I am beyond excited about this new opportunity!!

Shouting it from the mountain tops seems about right. 😉

  8. Congrats! How exciting!! I have been researching pregnancy/nutrition books for years now, not for infertility but in my own quest for a VBAC, and I have found that there is an abundance of secular information on health and conception/pregnancy and very little from a Christian perspective. If you ever feel like there are already too many books on this topic, remind yourself they are often not from a Christian perspective and I believe this is what will make your book stand out above the rest and meet a genuine need! I look forward to reading your book!

  9. I can’t wait to read it! Blessings to you and your family!

  10. YAY, can’t wait to read it!! Go you!

  13. Congrats, Donielle! I’m sure it will be an awesome book. :-) I’m excited that you will be able to educate many more people about the connection between infertility and celiac/gluten intolerance!
