Natural Goats Milk Soap Giveaway!!

A year ago I started switching to all natural bath and body products. While I’m not completely switched over yet, I’m still working on it. I just really believe in keeping toxins (that are in all conventional products) out of my body in order to help it function properly.

I recently came across Mountain Mama Chic on Etsy and immediately fell in love with her products. Maybe it’s the fact the we used to own goats or the fact the we currently drink goat milk, but I just love the fact that she hand makes her own goats milk soaps! And maybe it’s just this time of year, but her Mawmaw’s Pumpkin Pie soaps sound fabulous! The specific ingredients for this particular bar are as follows:

  • Pure Olive Oil – Softens and soothes skin
  • Organic Palm Oil – Rich in vitamins A and E, powerful antioxidants that moisturize and fight cellular damage
  • Goats Milk – The low PH of goats milk is close to our skin’s own PH making it a very gentle cleanser, excellent for sensitive skin. Contains restorative and rejuvenating alpha-hydroxy acids and vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and B12 which soften skin, make it more supple and help remove dead skin cells
  • Organic Coconut Oil – Softens skin, relieves dryness and flaking, and helps prevent wrinkles, sagging skin and agespots
  • Naturally Occurring Glycerin – This expensive moisturizing agent is a natural byproduct of soap making. It helps your skin hold in moisture and is found in every bar of my homemade soap.
  • Pure Pumpkin – Rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, E and C and beta-carotene helping to slow down the effects of aging
  • Organic Shea Butter – Moisturizer with antiaging properties aiding to fight fine lines, wrinkles, dry skin and dullness. Vitamins A, D and E nurture and regenerate skin. Protects skin from oxidation and sunrays
  • Sweet Almond Oil – Great emollient that improves complexion
  • Organic Hemp Oil – Contains Omega 6, 3 and 9 which help our skin hold moisture and a preventative in skin aging
  • Organic Castor Oil – Moisturizer that is antiviral and helps draw lodged toxins out of the body

A little bit from Carrie
While visiting my best friend last summer in Colorado, we decided to stop by the Vail Farmer’s Market. I was impressed by the number of vendors selling organic produce and body products. We bought a few natural soaps and lotions and were simply giddy to try them. I loved how wonderfully soft they made my skin, and the fact that I could pronounce every ingredient on the labels! Because it’s just as important what we put ON our bodies, as what we put IN our bodies. This thought really inspired me. When I returned home to Indiana I turned my kitchen into a science lab of sorts trying to find the best recipes for all natural skin care. The premise for my body products is simple: When you use the best organic and natural ingredients on your body, you will feel the difference. Even my colorants and exfoliating ingredients are natural – berries, avocados, spices, clays, almond meal, etc.

I’ve sold my wares at festivals, home parties, and custom orders. I received such a great response I decided to open a shop on I’ve only had my website for a few weeks and I’m amazed by the positive response I’ve received. It feels wonderful when someone tells me my products have helped them with their troubled skin or that they love the way it makes their skin glow.

I’ve also been making jewelry and knitting for years, so I have listed a few of these items on my website too!

I don’t really have a favorite item that I make, but I love how my kitchen smells like whatever kind of soap I’m making that day. I love researching and coming up with new organic goodies for your skin. I love buying new yarn and seeing what it turns out to be. I just love creating and making others happy!

Carrie is generously offering a package that will retail for $32.00!:

  • 1 Mawmaw’s pumpkin pie goats milk soap
  • 1 Mawmaw’s pumpkin pie lotion bar on the go (a lotion bar you can carry in your purse)
  • 1 stress B Gone Goats Milk soap
  • 1 January Jasmine Goats milk soap, and
  • 3 organic lip conditioners

  9. Emily @ Little Home says:

The Mama Needs Some Love sugar scrub sounds yummy!

  10. All of the goats milk soaps look wonderful (actually, everything looks great!), but I’d really like to try the mountain man soap.

Dumbest advice? Take birth control pills to prevent pregnancy. Didn’t follow that advice, and I have four wonderful children to show for it!

  11. I would love to try Mama Needs Some Love Sugar Scrub. This time of year I love scrubs. Thanks for the chance to win!

  12. Creme de Menthe ORGANIC Lip Conditioner with sunscreen looks great! I love Bert’s Bee’s I bet these are great products too. :o)

  15. lizzykristine @ Uplifted Eyes says:

The lavender moisture lotion bar sounds deliciously fragrant, but so did many of the lip balms. :) Thanks for the extra special giveaway!

The worst advice I’m familiar with is that hormonal BC is a good idea for the average woman. (I call it the worst because it is so very, very common and millions of women have never even heard another side to it.) I’m so thankful my husband was agreed right from the start that messing with the delicate balance of hormones was to be avoided if possible. I shudder to think what could have happened to my already struggling health if we’d added unnatural hormonal changes to the mix, too. Maybe nothing, but I didn’t care to find out…. :)

  16. simplenaturalnourishing says:

    The lip conditioner looks great.

Dumb advice: “Eat fat free yogurt – you don’t need all that fat.”

I also love the Whimsical Scarlet Fairie Necklace that she has on her site. That is so pretty and very unique.

  20. windycindy says:

Happy Halloween! The “Organic Herbal Facial Scrub” sounds wonderful. Who doesn’t love really clean skin?! The neck warmer is gorgeous. I adore handmade soaps, scrubs and lotions. I have two sons and it wasn’t easy to conceive either time. I did get suggestions, but I didn’t feel any of them were stupid! Please enter me in your delightful drawing. Many thanks…..Cindi

  21. I would love to try the ORGANIC Herbal Facial Scrub. I’ve been looking for a decent facial scrub that is not going to be too abrasive. This might be it! It’s going on my Christmas wish list.

  22. Jasmine Goat’s Milk Soap sounds divine!

  23. Oh and the dumbest advice I’ve gotten is to ‘think positive thoughts’. Okay first of all while ‘trying’, I mean, in the MOMENT, personally I am not concentrating on thinking! Secondly I think the whole process is positive, but then again it can be so disheartening and frustrating so it’s hard to tell those little sad voices to shut up and be positive all the time. For me I am a pretty positive person in general but thinking positive thoughts is not going to be what gets me pregnant!

  24. I would love to try some of the chapsticks and the Mountain Man soap for my husband. And the Whimsical Scarlet Fairy necklace I would like to give to my MIL. She loves fairies.

  25. I love the La La Neckwarmer. I’d love to be wearing that today!

Jennifer, jennem22 at yahoo dot com

  29. We decided to adopt due to infertility, and so many people told me, ‘Oh, now you’ll get pregnant!’ Six years later, I can assure you that adoption does not assist fertility! (not that I care any more!)
Jennifer, jennem22 at yahoo dot com

  30. Alison @ Wholesome Goodness says:

Worst advice: “Since you know you may have problems conceiving, don’t wait to see a fertility specialist. Just go see one right off the bat.” Ummmmm…or not! I’m amazed by how willing the vast majority of people are to tamper with the human body. Jump straight to drugs? Nope. I’d rather exhaust every other possiblity.

  31. Joanna J. says:

I would love to try the Stress B Gone Goat’s Milk Soap. I grew up drinking goat’s milk and like the idea of using it in body products! Thanks!

  42. I really like the mint hand knit scarf and ALL of the soaps!!

  43. Oh my goodness what great products she has :)

I would want to try the creme de menthe organic lipbalm without a doubt!

  44. The dumbest piece of advice I recieved for when my husband gets back from deployment and we try to start a family was “to try in the mornings.” LOL I guess there is a best time to do so :)

  85. I’ve gotten all kinds of dumb fertility/infertility advice. We have been struggling with infertility for over 6 years now and have been unsuccessful thus far. I just get a lot of insensitive comments like one day I’ll be glad I didn’t have kids b/c look at all the freedom I have, how much money I’ll save, etc.
The first piece of advice everyone seems to want to give me is to go adopt. I’m not at all opposed to adoption, don’t get me wrong. But there is a difference no matter what anyone says. I want the whole experience of being pregnant. I want to nurse my child and share that special time bonding. I want to experience labor. One day we may adopt. But right now I haven’t given up trying to have a child of my own.
